Awesome pics.  Thanks Kachina and Bee for sharing them.    I see some of my favs and some that are new to me.   I don't even know if the Balloon Race happened here this year or not.  I forgot to be aware due to a lot going on in my situation.

But I've also been to the amazing event there in Albuquerque one time and I would highly recommend the experience to anybody.    Go to the different events, assuming they still have them all.  I vaguely recall (not due to the experience being less than amazing, but due to the fact that my memory doesn't work anymore)there being morning events and nighttime events, as well as throughout the day.

@chickenbutt

You are correct!Heart

All the events are on the event schedule which can be found on the Balloon Fiesta website.

And they'll happen... if the weather behaves.  So far we've missed a few events.  A little too breezy out there...

I can relate to the wind issue.   The event here in Reno has been cut times over the years due to wind problems.   But the one here is an actual race.  All I remember from the years I attended was that there was some finishing point that they were headed for and some kind of prize for the winner.

I recall one time when a balloon landed, not quite by choice as I recall, on the street where I lived back then (I've lived here for 42 years), about a block from where I lived.  Oopsie!   It was fun to check it out and everybody was ok.  It wasn't a crash or anything, just an unfortunate need to  land for whatever reason (I know nothing about flying a balloon).

@beach-mom    How would you like that gorge bridge pictured above?

They've had numerous suicides on that bridge, but horrifyingly, several years ago, in a drug deal gone bad, two men threw a third over the edge.  I have nightmares about that.

@Kachina624 - Oh no, no, no! I get goosebumps just looking at the picture!

I know someone here posted about the swimming pool suspended between two high rises. As much as I like to swim I wouldn't go near that! People think it's great to be able to see all the way down. No thanks!

It's sad about the suicides and the murder. I would have nightmares too.

The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge?  I didn't like that one, either.  I had to drive across the Golden Gate to get to school and get home again and it didn't bother me as much as that Bay Bridge.

The San Mateo Bridge and the old Dumbarton were god-awful, too.  I still have dreams about the Dumbarton.

Visited New York and didn't have an issue walking across the Brooklyn Bridge...

@just bee - Actually it's the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I've never been to California, except for an overnight at the airport when our plan was delayed hours, but I imagine there are bridges like these all over!

I should have known.  I saw photos of your bridge online.  I've never seen the SF-Oakland Bay Bridge without cars on it.

Of course there was the bridge after the Loma Prieta earthquake, but I don't want to give you any nightmares...Heart

@Kachina624

It rained all night in Paradise Hills; did you get any rain in RR?

They're in the air this morning...
