Run and get your bread and milk! ![]()
Latest forecast has a half inch to an inch by tomorrow morning. I'll believe it when I see it.
While you pick yourself up off the floor from laughter, in all serious, the South doesn't have the snow equipment the rest of you do and the roads are not treated or cleared. Pray for us!
And to my neighbors, if you don't know how to drive in snow and we do actually get some, please stay home!
My car, auto insurance, and mother who really would miss me if you slid and ran me over, thank you. ![]()

Heaven help anyone who's connecting thru the Atlanta airport tomorrow! At least Delta has issued a weather waiver, but Friday is a heavy travel day with all the road warriers trying to get home for the weekend.

@FrostyBabe1 I would think the airport should be okay. It's us locals who are going to be entertainment. on I-85 and I-75. With it being Friday and Snowmaggedon still fresh, I'll bet a lot of people stay home and take a 3 day weekend if it does materialize.

Yep! I was in Atlanta once at Lenox Mall when people were rushing around in a panic because it MIGHT snow an inch then would be 63 the next day! LOL!!!!
Best of luck to y'all! Go get that bread, milk, peanut butter and maybe some "Southern Comfort" to help survive the day!
Seriously, be careful out there!

@Laura14 We get that all the time in spring in Oklahoma for severe weather. They may be on from 2 or 3 in the afternoon to nearly midnight chasing tornadoes or hail across the state. And enough is never enough!

My Aunt and Uncle moved to Atlanta from Pittsburgh. And my Uncle decided to keep his snow shovel etc. "just in case". Well, don't you know it the winter they moved down there Atlanta had snow.
He got to meet all his neighbors. None of them had a snow shovel. He suddenly became popular.
My BIL talked about when they moved to San Antonio from Philadelphia. He was telling us about their first snow in San Antonio. The trucks sanded the roads but they did not have spreaders to broadcast the sand. He said every intersection had a mound of sand, He said it was more like speed bumps.
Atlanta is tough driving on nice sunny days. Oh My!

@drizzellla When I pull out my genuine NJ ice duster/scraper, the parking lot literally goes quiet and it's like I have held up Harry Potter's magic wand or the hand of God. Take your pick. LOL

The thing with the airport is that if it's cold enough to snow, that means they'll need to be de-icing the aircraft prior to take-off. That takes a fair amount of time and slows everything down. There's a pretty interesting discussion going on in a frequent flyer forum about the adequacy (or lack thereof) of cold weather ops at ATL. And it's not just the folks actually flying...there's thousands of people that work at the airport and need to get there. Thankfully I got my trip done yesterday. Landing was pretty sporty as we went thru a cold front, but that was about it.
