The rains revived our little pond. The horses are enjoying it while the elk are clustered near the athletic field.
The new foals like running through the water. The elk took a turn after the horses went into the meadow. The baby calves bounced and played. Even their moms enjoyed the shallow water and squishy mud.

We just had a rain storm. The horses were on the athletic field, but then they vanished. My husband spotted them beneath the picnic gazebo. Those guys know how to cope.

That is one cohesive herd! I love seeing your pics of them. Even when we had 4 horses there was a herd mentality. They stuck together and had a hierarchy that was subject to change. The big male was the herd leader (even though he was a gelding). Fascinating to watch even though they weren't "wild".
