When you are super rich, and have power you can do just about anything.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

Another thought on this topic -   I'd far rather hear apologies than claims the accusers are liars or the reports fake.  Yes, in a small percentage of cases that's true which is why I think we should be carefgul not to jump on the blame wagon.  But the percentage of false accusers is far fewer than the percentage of abusers.  Totally sincere or  motivated some other way - an apology is anadmission of guilt.  Good start for someone guilty.

Oh, yes, and when you are famous you can do anything "They let you do it".

Can't finish that comment, but we've all heard it.

I find all these apologies so insulting.  They were just saying Matt Lauer's was heart felt.

Really?  Thery're only sorry they got caught.  Lauer had a button under his desk.

@MarkeieMarkWhat does that mean?  Really.  I know only the barest details of this news story and don't understand this button comment.

Thanks in advance.

@esmerelda

You might want to skim the thread NBC Fires Matt Lauer.

It's been discussed pretty thoroughly there.

Let's look at the bigger picture (not saying these people are innocent, of course)....

This is about taking away our freedoms. If it gets to the point that we can't put our hand on someone's back without getting repercussions, we're DONE.

In case you haven't noticed, they're telling us what words we MUST use to describe a certain group of people, & how we MUST act around them, etc.

Be aware.....our freedoms are being removed. Open your eyes to the BIGGER PICTURE.

MSNBC reported Lauer raped a woman in his office, locked her in.

She lost consciousness and needed medical help, so he had an assistant take her to see the nurse.

Usually the courts don’t find an apology is enough in an attack like that.

I read about this too.  My first thought was -- "And the nurse chose to say nothing????!!!!!"

The nurse??  Why not a cop, FPS!!!

If the job was so important THEN that it wasn't reported, why isn't the job that important NOW?

Most of these accusations probably happened.  Doesn't meant reporting them now isn't the fad of 2017.

I'm disgusted with all of it...the men who do it and the cowardly women who didn't report it in real time and have just now "found (their) voice," "channeled the courage" of others.

Isn't that special.

I just don't understand why parents didn't teach these digusting men and cowardly women...when they were BOYS AND GIRLS...some self respect.

And no doubt MY post will be the one removed because it will be deemed "inappropriate."

I accept Frankens apology. At least from what we know now.  If there is more that comes out and we find out there was more involved, I will revisit how I feel.  The others, I don't accept. Especially Lauer. He's had a lot of opportunities over the past several weeks and months to come forward, to come clean all on his own. He's heard and seen these stories and reports coming out about the other men. He's heard how this abuse causes pain to the women. He's had a lot of chances to do the right thing. He didn't.   His apology is too little, too late in my opinion.

If I had a dollar for every se_ual harassment course I had to sit through... I was even a corporate trainer at one time and the training was required for all employees.  In my current position it's an annual requirement.

Has it stopped the harassment?
