What a surprise to see Mrs Robin in the middle of an ice storm this morning.Does that mean spring is comming? She is gathering the red berries on my Holly tree.
Today we are having more icey rain and next week more huge snow storms are forcast to come our way.Temps are freezing too.
About 2 or 3 weeks ago I heard our resident nesting geese honking their arrival.I wanted to say,"you are too early,go back". I felt so bad,I hope they are ok.We have had a few giant ice and snow storms since that day. Last yr they lost quite a few of their babies early on.They keep trying though,yr after yr they return to try again.I'm always so glad to see them arrive, then I get sad as their babies decrease in number.I know everyone hates geese, but I do like to watch them with their brood walking in the morning search for food, then returning in the evening. They cross over big highways here and walk very far for searching food.
We also had a very hungry opossum awake from sleep already.
