Re: The wildfires in Australia

@phoenixbrd

The Aussies are also outraged that they went ahead with fireworks, when they have so may horrendous fires right now.

A zoo in Germany lost a lot of chimpanzees, monkeys and marmosets, when fireworks ignited the roof of their enclosure.

All for some ooohs and aaahs.

Re: The wildfires in Australia

@KingstonsMom  Life is a priority.  Who made that incompetent and cruel decision to set off fireworks near a zoo or have celebrations when death is imminent due to wildfires. Can't get that PM out of office soon enough.   Hopefully, there will be retribution but the horrific damage has been done.  Aussies have every right to be outraged.

Re: The wildfires in Australia

Australia is a country that mostly habitable on it coasts.  Most of the entire population of Australia is packed on it's edges. The further you go inland, the hotter it gets. The interior is sparsely settled.  Even the original aborigines did not live inland.  They too lived the coast. It's simply too hot to live comfortably. It also has very little water.  Australia is a country that is obsessed with climate change and they should be. One of the few countries in the world that primarily vote for environmental issues.  They care more about that then taxes. Morrison was elected because of his pledge to the environment.  Otherwise he would never had been nominated to run.

@songbird, his views and actions belie any great interest in environmental issues.

@goldensrbest, the thousands taking refuge on the beach cannot drive out.

All that @chrystaltree said is that people are in danger as well. I don't think we have to go back and forth about which need more help. They all do.

Re: The wildfires in Australia

Nbc, just said they estimate 8 ,350 killed, they may become endangered. How very sad.
