Re: The stupidest move in business. McDonald's changed their fries.

I think there's room for a lot of improvement with their fries.  In fact, I think they're awful, actually tough if a potato can be tough.  I never get combo meals there because I don't want to pay for fries that i'll just toss.

What I enjoy at McDonald's is their fish fillet (tartar sauce, cheese).  Woman Happy

We haven't noticed any difference in the fries where we are.  McDs fries have always been "skinny fries".  I don't see how they could get any "skinnier" - there wouldn't be anything to fry.  They'd end up like potato sticks.

I'll pay more attention next time I get an order.

@Venezia @Mine have always been skinny but now they are skinnier than before.

Wendy's fries are 1000 times better than McDonald's.   There's no comparison.

@Zernia Rose   they stopped using beef fat for the fries in 1992.

They changed the oils in which they fry their French fries also. Previously used beef fat and customers, I believe in India, as well as other individuals complained.

Re: The stupidest move in business. McDonald's changed their fries.

I hardly ever eat fast food - I used to and considered it a real treat. The burgers, fries, etc. were great, imo.  Then that changed.  Became a continual disappointment whenever I tried it, so I stopped. I think friendlies still had / has nice burgers.  What I found interesting was a few years ago I went to europe and needed a fast stop for food a couple of times and their fast food (mcdonald's I think or was it burger king)  was amazing!  - just the quality and taste that it used to be here in the US many years ago.  Great fries, great burgers there.

This whole thread got me thinking that what might be an interesting thread is to open up the topic to include more businesses  "the stupidest move by a business" ..... (customer impact wise).

Yep fries in my area have always been skinny and yummy when hot.

That’s weird. I eat McD’s fries at least once a week. I haven’t noticed a change.

Their fries were always skinny.  I think you had not had McDonald's in so very many years, you just assumed they changed things because you liked it.
