Love this @Foxxee! So cute!

Ate Thanksgiving dinner at my brother's and his son-in-law and granddaughter were there from out of state. They brought their adorable doggie that looks like a big ball of cotton! Sooooo darn cute! He came over and sat by me toward the end of the meal and l asked if l could give him something, They said yes so now l have a friend for life! He even walked me out to the door to say good bye! Awww... So darling. ❤️

In case she doesn't see this, it stands for German Shepherd Dog.  I'm not sure, but I suppose the Dog was added to differentiate it from German herders (shepherds who herded sheep).

 

This breed was developed around 1850 in Germany.
