Re: The only time it is acceptable...

Anyone who lives with a cat, unless it's a hairless breed, knows that they're going to swallow a certain amount of cat hair - not sure what difference it makes if it's in a bed. Just sayin'....Wink

Re: The only time it is acceptable...

Trying to post from my kindle as my laptop just officially bit the dust. Ugh I hate typing on this thing. Had to say hello back to Donna! . Ironically,it is because my dog Bella decided to a flying leap onto my lap last week and knocked my laptop to the ground that it is now dead . Gotta love them even when they cost you a fortune, ha ha! It lasted a couple of days so I guess that was good! Have a great day everyone !

It was on the news this morning that 80+% of pets sleep with their owners.

To me people that feel that way about animals have no heart and likes likes too much perfection since they consider animals to be dirty.

Re: The only time it is acceptable...

Mine actually sleep ON the bed, not in the bed. They do not like to be under the covers. I have a separate sheet that covers the bedding and that can be whipped off at any time and tossed in the washer.

Now if the bed is completely made with the comforter and pillows, I don't let them up with without a sheet protecting the comforter. Dry cleaning is such a pain.....

And they do have their own beds-two in the office and two in the bedroom. They nap on them once in a while, when they aren't crashed on the sofa.

Sorry, but I think sleeping with a dirty animal is unacceptable. That is why LL Bean makes dog beds.

My "dirty" cat is sleeping NEXT TO his L.L. Bean "dog" bed, right now, LOL! I thought I placed it in a good spot, but it must be sunnier two inches away. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Oh! Don't you just love how they'll follow a sunbeam around the house just to get a bit more warmth?

The rescue organizations insisted that I have a cat bed ON EACH FLOOR of the house. {#emotions_dlg.confused1} I got a big one from L.L. Bean, having Norman Rockwell visions of BOTH of them sleeping in it, and I got a smaller one for her. She has never slept in hers {#emotions_dlg.glare}, but occasionally they will take an afternoon nap (on a rotating basis) in the Bean one.

My cat loves his bed......but that's because it's got a heated insert in it.......(I don't spoil him much, do I?)

Re: The only time it is acceptable...

we love pets. my dh and i love animals. however i believe a point here is missing. do remember what my doctor has reminded me of about sleep. she is a fine doctor. but ask your doctor too. lack of good quality sleep can cause and contribute to illnesses. sad to say but animals sleeping with us disturbs our good healing deep quality of sleep. please do read about poor sleep and illnesses. and as well read about pets and sleep disturbance. this is only what i was pondering, others don't need to agree with my thoughts or words. Re: The only time it is acceptable...

Q_spirit, I don't disagree with you. I did mention in an earlier post, that my cat sometimes wakes me up at night, when he decides to start grooming himself at 1 am!

But that doesn't happen often. Usually, I feel content that he's there, and that makes me sleep better.
