Re: The only time it is acceptable...

I needed the reminder to go find the "plush cat bed" that I bought years ago, for our cat. He sniffed it, got in and out a few times, then had no more interest in it. I got tired of tripping on it, and stashed it in a closet.

A friend's cat just had kittens, so I'm giving it to her.

If you have a pet that likes its bed....great! Our cat likes our bed, the back of the sofa, the rocker, or one of the guest beds. His own? Not so much, which is why it's leaving our house.

Sorry, but I think sleeping with a dirty animal is unacceptable. That is why LL Bean makes dog beds.

I don't know why your point of view is condemned. Most people who are older than 10 years old would like a clean bed to sleep in and be able to breathe at night. My cats have plush, soft beds and in more than one place in the house. One can love animals and not want to cuddle with them while sleeping as if they were human.

Thank you.

Hello ILikeShade!

I guess it is the dirty didn't set well. Doesn't mean your bed is dirty if you sleep with your pets. Milo wasn't allowed back in ours until we got the burrs off him.

My "dirty" cat is sleeping NEXT TO his L.L. Bean "dog" bed, right now, LOL! I thought I placed it in a good spot, but it must be sunnier two inches away. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Re: The only time it is acceptable...

I know quite a few people who do not allow their pets to sleep with them. You know what the difference is?

They never refer to their pet as a dirty animal.

That's what I object to, HH. My dogs get dirty, they get a bath. Cats keep themselves cleaned and groomed. I spend a lot of time brushing my two. But we also have no objection to leaving the house with some dog hair attached. It's part of the package.

Animals shed. If you want that in your face and lungs have at it. Also, my cats sometimes have particles of cat litter in their cat beds as well as on their tail.

People shed too. Shed skin cells, hair, etc.

Was Yuban, then changed to Plaid Pants due to forum upgrade, and apparently, I'm back to being Yuban.

Oh! Don't you just love how they'll follow a sunbeam around the house just to get a bit more warmth?
