Did you have anything with Velcro in the machine with your PJ's?

Just wondering if you had anything in the load with a zipper. If the zipper is open, it can shred something that gets in its path. I always close a zipper but sometimes it will open in the wash and make holes or catches on other items.

I did have something with a zipper in the wash. Maybe that's what shredded it up.

I don't know that they'll take them back. No tags, no receipt as I throw away the invoices once I rip off the tags and wear/wash. I have a feeling they would not be too nice to me and tell me it's my fault. I tried to read the care label but there were no words, just symbols I cannot interpret and no care info on their website.

Sorry that happened @Grouchomarx. My favorite nightgown was ruined & still attached to an open zipper when I took it out of the washer. I recently bought several pairs of the Soma Cool Nights pj's, they're pricey & I like them so lesson learned...wash zippered together & away from everything else.
