The Amazon rain forest is on fire. Seems like an oxymoron for a rain forest to burn, but it is and with it medicinal plants and all manner of wildlife. It's too bad we're not hearing more about this and what can be done to help.

I dont know how it started. I'm assuming the rain forest is dry? Lightening, maybe?

@bathina  I think lightning is a likely cause.

according to the news reports the fires are set by farmers clearing their land ... the administration's policies should take the blame.

I just read they are politically motivated ,to discredit the gov. It sounds to me like they have no idea what really happened..

I don't believe I've heard anything about this and I watch the National evening news program most every evening.  Usually Lester Holt on NBC.

Very distressing this world in which we live.  Cat Sad
