The specialist promised me the chemical results in three business days, which will be Tuesday, and their "layman's language" plan for remediation by the next day, Wednesday. At that time I will forward these reports to management and, since the company I chose for the test has great respect for the company management was going to use, inform them that they are free to use their company to do the remediation.

I think they know they are going to have to do something, they have been back and forth here all day yesterday and today looking at the outside of the building. They are obviously waiting for me to take the next step before they do anything, which I will do, as I explained above.

This can be done professionally and amicably. It is up to them.

Someone else in this thread said that if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck. She was right I guess. I just saw two of their maintenance trucks pull up and two men got out and did a walk-around the outside of the apartment. They probably know we had the inspection done because they undoubtedly saw the truck yesterday and I guess might have been checking out what the inspector was looking at. I think they know they are in trouble.

My family was going to come this weekend to further help us with unpacking, but we have decided to stop unpacking now, not because we are thinking we will have to move, but because there will be people in here while we might have to leave for a few days, and the less unpacked, the less likely someone would be tempted to take something. (See how trusting I am?)

Erin did go to the Lyme doc yesterday and he told her she has made no progress. She cannot go to the "next level," whatever that means. So I expect her to stay in bed most of the time for now. She probably overdid too much and didn't stick to her diet. We are both pretty depressed.

Thank you JSS!! And if you looked at her and was asked to guess her name, that would be your guess. She's a tiny little thing, just 5'1" tall, with black hair (now streaked with gray) and huge blue eyes. She has dimples and up to getting sick, the most adorable personality, always giggling and laughing. Everyone loves her, guys went ga ga over her, she just had "IT."

I know, there goes Ford bragging about her kids again! [It kills me to see her this way.]

You just go braggin away all you want, Ford, I do the same thing! LOL I am so sorry she can't go to the next level but she will get there, Lyme is nasty and takes time, Erin sounds just beautiful too, like her Mother is, inside and out. I love blue eyes and black hair, even with some white, who cares. You both are amazing examples of strong women who perservere sp. in this world.

Thank you Mama. She had to go up to Rutgers, New Brunswick today with her son, who starts there in the fall. One would think his father would have taken him, but he does nothing except bash my little daughter and try to brainwash his kids against her. He's happy with anything that makes her life harder.

She tried as hard as she could for 18 years to make a real marriage out of their relationship, but he is a narcissist/psycho of the worst kind, and no one can make him better. He is still on it, almost every day, constant nasty texts, etc., the whole thing.

She deserves some peace in her life and now she has to fight this disease. She was up and on the road this morning at 7:15 AM to take her son to Rutgers (a parent had to accompany him, and it's about an hour and a half from here up the worst road in the world, the NJ Turnpike). She came back about 3 PM and went right to bed. I knew not to ask any questions because I can find out later how it went. I knew she needed to rest.

Ford, Surely Rutgers would have accepted someone else since your daughter is so ill? What if she was having surgery? I'm surprised she was physically capable of making the trip. I hope it doesn't set her back further.

I have told management that if they cannot fix this problem, I will have no alternative but to bring in a third party mold contractor for a second opinion and if necessary, remediation of the mold issue.

They have referred it to ownership. I have not heard back from them. The maintenance man (a very nice, honest young fellow) told us the corporation has never fixed a mold problem here, except for caulking which does not permanently fix the problem, nor does it present the spores from being airborne. He said some people move out, others don't.

I don't think any of us can withstand another move. I will give them a few days to provide me with a solution before I advise them that I will be bringing a third party contractor in.

Any thoughts?

You guessed it, it was a big ole' black snake sunning himself. We both survived to tell the tale. Barely.

Egad! Did you attempt to pick it up before you realized it was a snake? Are black snakes poisonous? Most of them are harmless, it's a shame how most of us are repulsed by them.

She very much wanted to do this for her son. I could not dissuade her. She is still asleep. After she's up for a while I will ask her how it went. He received large financial offers from several schools, but this was the largest, and Rutgers is the closest as well. He deserves it, he worked hard in school and received excellent grades.

My little daughter will not truly relax until this "thing" is over with. We still look like we moved in yesterday and it's been two weeks. My other daughters are coming today. They will get some stuff organized and take empty boxes and other trash over to the trash area. No more can go into storage, it is full. We also have a lot of kitchen duplicates and they are going to go through them to see if there is anything they can use.

I hate that I am so useless.

Most of my family has had Lyme or one of its confections. The doctor needs to explain what he means by going to the "next level". I have never heard this. I wish I could give you the name of a very good doctor that treats Lyme patients successfully. She is in north jersey, but worth the trip. Spends lots of time with her patients.
