@ChiliPepper   I never heard a word from his family.  He was a really nice kid and very sweet.

I am happy that I was there when he needed help and knew what to do.

Well, it's possible I suppose that they didn't know about you or know it was you.

I know if that was my child, I would have tracked you down & been ever so grateful - FOREVER!!!

Re: The girl choking while driving

@monicakm the video is from the police dash cam and the cop's body cam.

She was driving down a busy road with her flashers on.

The cop figured it was someone in distress and pulled off to the side of the road with her.

She said a car swerved in front of her, causing her to choke on her gum.

She was driving for at least 15 minutes, choking, looking for a cop to flag down.

Re: The girl choking while driving

@Carmie  How fortunate that you were there and knew how to help that boy. Everyone should have been grateful, especially since the nurse was at lunch and not available.

That principal's behavior was abhorrent. He should have been commending you for your quick action. Would he have preferred

that the boy had choked to death?

It angers me that he treated you that way. What a piece of****

he was. And to top that off, to accuse you of stealing. UGH!

Re: The girl choking while driving

On our flight back from Italy in January, the PA system called for medical assistance. I’m retired but told the stewardess I was a nurse. A person was eating in reclining position & was choking. The stewardess was in the process of doing the Heimlich when a doctor & I arrived. She was quite calm & the passenger expelled a piece of chicken.

There was a second call for assistance, different person, different circumstance but the doctor was in attendance when I arrived. I was quite impressed with the training & calm demeanor of aircraft staff.

As a nurse, I’ve had occasion to do the Heimlich a few times in non medical settings.
