2 tornadoes that moved in from Nebraska touched down in my city last evening. They were nasty storms.

I thought that there were seismograph machines that could measured in coming earthquakes. 

@monicakm  - Well there are - kind of.  The technology is not really there yet to give decent notice.  Probaby because the earthquakes themselves happen so quickly I don't see how the warning would really work.  The warning is maybe a few seconds and that's it.  Not really enough to do anything because by the time you've figured out that you're getting a warning, the earthquake hits.

@CalminHeart I hope help has arrived for those impacted and there was no loss of life. Tornadoes are so random in the destruction they cause. I am sorry your city is suffering.
