You and me both.

I've never been camping and do not feel I'm missing a thing.

Re: The cost of campers these days --wow!

My parents had a heavily used motor home..  They were all over the U.S. in it and used it constantly every summer but it was in A-1 condition when they sold it.  That was a sad day.  It was a wonderful respite to spend the summer in the cool high altitudes.

Trouble with a pop-up is that you have no protection against bears.  They are prevalent throughout the Rocky Mts. and in many places in the U.S.

You're not. I went once and never again. I wouldn't have a camper even if it were free. I don't find anything appealing about tiny cramped quarters.

I agree.  We have never been interested in camping.  You can meet nice people in lots of places.  But traveling with a trailer or in an RV just holds no appeal for some of us.  I do know people who love it however.  Whatever floats your boat--which is something and were glad to get rid of!  LOL!!!

Almost everyone eventually visits a national park or forest.  Having your own bathroom with you sure beats using those forest service outhouses.

The modern motor homes and trailers are a far cry from "camping".

OK - fine - so WHY open this thread then, just to dump on the conversation? When I see a topic I am not interested in I just go on by.Instead you felt compelled to open this topic and make negative comments. The subject is quite clear in the title of the thread.

At the Allegheny National Forest you have to pay by the min. for shower water. Or you can shower in your nice private, clean camper bathroom with hot water and for as long as you need - for free. Plus you only have water flow in the public BR when you are pulling on a chain so as you shower you have to not let go of the chain or the water stops.
