Yes, the storm was in November but the fierce November winds came earlier in the month than was usual
I have seen him live in concert many times over the past forty years and that's one song that he always does in concert - haven't seen one yet where he hasn't sung it. It does go on and on and on and on.......

I've lived in Michigan all my life and have spent a great deal of time in the upper peninsula. If you have never been to Lake Superior you are missing something. It is truly "superior" - summer or winter. I can't believe it has been 40 years since the Fitz went down. There is a ceremony tonight in Detroit at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum to commerate the Fitz. Many of the families of the men who went down are there.

I think the story would make for a great movie, if told in the right way.
It could be a way to pay respect to the lives that these brave men sacrificed.

@Plaid Pants2 It's kinda been done already - The Perfect Storm with Geo. Clooney.

Yeah, but that wasn't about the Edmund specifically.
I'm talking about doing a movie on the E.F. specifically.

I knew you were @Plaid Pants2 but I can see nobody wanting to do it because it would be so similar of a story. Unless you mean an actual documentary film rather than a drama. The History Channel's show is a documentary about it already.

What I had in mind is similar to the movie "The 33" about the trapped Chilean miners, which is coming out this week.
It's the story about those miners that were trapped deep in a mine, a few years back.
That's not a documentary, nor does it pretend to be. But it does tell their story, of what they went through.
Something along those lines could be done to tell the story about the E.F.

I'd go see it if maybe Chris Pine played the captain.

I just read that a bad storm is hitting Lake Michigan tomorrow and waves will be about 20 ft. Crashing on shore!
That is crazy.

I probably DO need a Starbucks right about now.
what about the Billy Joel song " The Downeaster Alexa"
that might be a shanty song, too
Tells a story... And I love visualizing the water and smelling the smell of the sea!
