A sharp can lid that nearly severed a toe.  The ER physician said one more stitch and I would have been getting it repaired in the OR, not the ER!   

I love the new can openers that took away the sharp edges on can lids!

When I was a kid, I was wading in the creek next to the house and stepped on a piece of a board with a nail sticking up. Also, stepped on a bee.

@Liverbird1 Isn't that the worst?  As a kid we would play outside sometimes until after dusk in the summertime.  My mom had slate stepping stones leading to the house that snails just loved. I don't know how many of those dreadful things squished between my toes over the years.  Ugh!!

Not walked on but jumped on. When I was around 7, I hit my brother and mom saw me, she chased me and I climbed the peach tree. To get away I jumped from the tree and landed on the hoe, blade side up. Huge cut and mom said that was punishment enough.

A dead mouse our cat left on the kitchen floor when I was a teenager.

Worst thing I stepped on:  Lego

Worst thing I ever got in my foot: With only socks on, I was sliding across the new wooden floor and got a huge splinter wedged into my foot.  Took several visits to the Dr. where he'd spend some time digging the pieces out as I screamed and cried on the exam table. It's a memory that still makes me shudder over 50 years later!

What made it the "worst" thing is that it was longer than my foot is wide, and I felt those delicate legs squish up and tickle between each toe at the same time.
