Re: The Weather Channel 'shakeup'...

I don't care whether I "like" the weather person or not, but I just want to hear weather.  I get SO upset when we are traveling and I want to know what to expect the next day or so and some stupid show is on!

I am delighted there will be more weather!  WOO HOO!!!

I'm so glad Roker/Abrams is over and done. I stopped watching when they brought those two on. As far as Sam Champion goes, I believe he took the move form NY because his SO would not relocate and he wanted to be closer - I read that somewhere.

Thanks for this thread.I'm delighted to read there will be more actual weather reporting.I had stopped depending on the weather channel for real weather some time ago.As many of you stated it was mostly reality shows,I travel a lot,so the weather reports are important to me.Thanks for all of the helpful links.

Exactly.

I gave up using that channel years ago when I never could see the local weather and updates, at least within minutes and not having to wait until the end of show. I don't have a smart cell phone that can look up weather either.

Re: The Weather Channel 'shakeup'...

I've learned something today.  I didn't even know that The Weather Channel had 'shows'.

About the only time I've ever tuned in was either for the 'weather on the 8s' thing or if there was a severe storm thing happening.

But, all that said, I would imagine that they, like any other channel, need to provide a diversity of programming in order to keep the channel going.

Exactly!!!  More often than not, I have a 6am flight.  When I turn on the TWC at 4am, I want to hear about the weather.

Re: The Weather Channel 'shakeup'...

I never watch TWC in the morning so I never watched Al Roker or Sam Champion.  I've never been a huge fan of Al and I don't even know who Sam Champion is.

I'm glad to hear they are getting back to actual weather.  I was to the point where I rarely watched anymore because it turned into a reality network for weather.  Even when they do report the weather, they appear to concentrate on the east coast/D.C. area.  Here in the midwest, there would be a major snow storm approaching and all they talked about was how it would effect the east coast. a week from now.

Thanks for bringing that up..........My first indication of a bad storm approaching is rumbling thunder and ground-strike lightning.   They are a little slow with the "warnings"...............
