IMO I think they don't want to be "stuffy" and more ordinary and relatable.

I like the picture as well!  Less is often more.  I think it's a much more 'relaxed' picture than royals generally have taken.

@Linmo , thanks for sharing this. I was just thinking recently that I've not seen many pictures of the family in a while. I think they're all precious and love seeing how they're growing...just too quickly, of course. I like that it's not a stuffy picture. I used to get a photo Christmas card each year from a cousin. They would get all dolled up with big smiles, often taken in front of their big "mansion" home, along with their luxury cars. After the kids were grown, I found out that they had a very unhappy life and went through a nasty separation when the kids were done with college and moved out. It always makes me wonder about the staged pictures for Christmas cards. I applaud them for keeping it simple, maybe this is how they live their lives.
