Re: The Voodoo Twist

[ Edited ]

@Reever  said the kids were making fun of the song.  Not that they were unfamiliar with it.  Yes, I think that's disrespectful.

Here they are expecting candy and making fun of music Reever likes, the person giving it to them?

How old were they?  Old enough to have been taught manners.

I haven't heard of the song.  Nevertheless, it was rude of the children to comment negatively about your music.  Smiley Sad

Did they have good costumes?

Disrespect?????   Why was it disrespect???  Merely because they live in today's world and don't know about the world an older person still chooses to live in???  No wonder older people are often portrayed as crabby!!  It probably would be better if  OP just skipped anything where anyone from the younger generation is present.

Hmmmmm.  @Reever  perhaps you left out a few important details?  I ask because you constantly put down children and indeed anyone under the age of 40 -- frequently and rigorously.  So I have to think this scenario of what happened sounds like the Reader's Digest version instead of the full story.

Did the children just come out and laugh or remark about the song you were playing?  Or how exactly did they make fun of it?  Have you had any previous negative encounters with these kids? Are they usually disrespectful?

In any event, try not to take it to heart.  Hopefully you had a good day all in all.

I've never heard this song, so I listened to it.  I don't like it at all, and I do like "oldies."  How in the world do you expect 10 year old kids to know a song from 1961?  Their grandparents wouldn't even know what it was.

I don't know what they did to disrespect you, but if they were just laughing at the song I wouldn't consider that disrespect.

Another day, another complaint about young people from the OP. Shocker!

If you would have cranked up "Monster Mash" By Bobby Boris P they would have been singing along. (at least all the kids I know).
