I haven't seen last night's yet, I just watched the DVR of Monday night's version. I cannot watch this in real time because the commercials drive me insane.
Anyhow, I used to be a American Idol fan until about 3 or 4 seasons ago and then I felt the talent was seriously lacking and getting worse by the minute. But for some reason, I never could get into The Voice.
This year we are watching it and loving it. I cannot believe how amazingly talented these people are. This show blows AI out of the water.
Yes it does...plus the interactions with the Judges are highly entertaining.
Shakira cracks me up when she says she'll call Miranda Lambert. 
One thing I have noticed is it seems Blake and Adam do know their music, there are quite a few songs that Usher and Shakira say they never have heard.

I just love the way the judges are so much more invested in this with the contestants and more involved. That even goes for the contestants on the other teams.

I agree, I like the interactions between all on this show.
I love this show, the interaction between the judges, all of it.
I want to say that with the professionals on this show, they don't try to hide that and almost say upfront that's what this show is about, that it is so difficult in this business and so many people need a second chance. Very upfront. Whereas DWTS pretends that there is no difference between someone who has never had a dance lesson and a gold medal winning ice skater. The average person cannot just spin like that girl can first time out. Plus they already know how to learn choreography, all of that. Huge advantage.
As nunya said, I also noticed that Blake and Adam seen to know all genres of music, where as Usher saying he'd never heard "Whenever I Call You Friend"...that completely surprised me.
With Usher's hat, does he usually or has he ever worn a hat? Not that I've ever seen. Is he trying to be Pharrell????
Both DH and I are watching the Voice as well as AI. Even the contestants that the Voice is sending home are much better than those on AI IMO. There is no comparison.
I was hoping someone would have stolen Biff as he has a wonderful voice. Sisaundra (sp?) is good, but I, too don't think it's really fair to those who never had any previous professional help in their past.
As far as Usher's hat, I am so hoping it's not real fur. If it is real fur, shame on him. DH asked me what that "thing" was on his head and thought it looked stupid.
I have read on several different sites that it's raccoon. He has been sporting it for awhile now.
