The Tornadoes

What happens to the poor surviving pets whose owners died in the tornadoes? Wonder how long they give survivors of the tornadoes to try to find their pets? And if their homes are destroyed, how can they even take their pets with them? I'd just die if something like that happened to me & I couldn't find my cat.
