@SharkE  Oh yea, one can always predict how certain threads will go...  along with the stance certain posters will take... I'd say the herd has been thinned quite a bit with the inception of the 'new' boards, but would agree, there are a few I wouldn't miss were they to shuffle off and I'm sure they feel the same about me...

@stevieb

I'd miss you too

@Sapphiregal  I agree with both the points of view you expressed in our original post. The volume of pandemic posts has been daunting and the boards seem to have become increasingly restrictive.

Yes, and it goes way overboard. For example, it gets annoying when people post all the pages of stats, numbers and graphs and of course the daily tallies of Covid deaths. Do we need that on a shopping message board?  Everyday someone must post the XXX number dead from Covid. Like we don't know that already?  Leave all the numbers , charts, etc. on the many many news sites that have already posted them.

@KKJ.  I believe you have the boards confused with your local TV station.  I've never seen anyone here post daily tallies of covid deaths.  The word "covid" is usually in the title of a thread on the subject.  Please feel free to skip them. There's no requirement to read  every thread on t h e boards.

Speaking of the pandemic, I am all in when it comes to the government choosing a day of rememberance for all those affected by this pandemic -- probably a day in March to signify its appearance.

@Sapphiregal, thanks so much for starting a Covid thread!

Uh no, I don't and yes, there have been many many posts in the many many Covid threads the past year where lots of graphs, stats and death tallies were given.

And yes, I know I can skip the zillion Covid threads here but it's my opinion, and that is that it's not necessary to open new threads about the same thing.

And why is it when a different topic thread is posted--heaven forbid something not Covid!--there are people who gripe about that. Can they not skip the thread too?

I will be SO glad when every other thread on these forums is not about Covid 19. I think it has been discussed to death! I think there is too much censoring by moderaters, as well. Topics have to be so "soft" that they are uninteresting.

You know what's great? You're about to get your wish. In the next several months as Covid becomes less of a perceived threat there will be much less to talk about.

Mask discussions will become moot because encountering people not wearing them won't be seen as harmful to those of us who got our shots. That will be lovely. And as well managed herd immunity builds, the topic will fade away.

In many parts of the country we are quickly getting vaccinated and are moving past this virus and returning to normal while also remaining safe and healthy. I like those priorities a lot. Wins all around for us. It will take time and continuing teamwork, but as things keep getting better I am very optimistic.

@Sapphiregal

Since your thread was at the top of the other threads pertaining to the virus, I thought maybe it would be ok to add something to it.

My wife and I got our 2nd Pfizer shot this morning. What thread do you prefer I let others know if I have any side effects of note?

@Porcelain  I love your optimism but won't be as assured as you are until they determine how long the shots gives immunity for. They just don't know yet -- the shots are too new.

I hear you! Personally, when that happens, I'll just get a booster shot and keep it moving.

I have't read through all the posts, so sorry if this one irritates anyone.

I got my 2nd Pfizer shot this past Wednesday.  I had no side affects.  The only time my arm hurt was if I pressed on the area of the shot.  (I'm well over 65).

What I want to add is that I've had a few friends that got the Pfizer and had no problems.  I've had 2 or 3 friends who got the Moderna and had fever and feeling sick the next day.  But it only lasted one day in both cases.  My friends are also all over 65.

I've heard all along that the reactions (for those who might have a reaction) appear to be worse for those under 65, but I don't know if there was any differentiation between Pfizer and Moderna for that study.
