Funny , over a yr ago it was all abt how many would accept the vaccine and all the one who said they would refuse to get the vaccine. Looks to me  that many  have been waiting and are happy they won the  vaccine lottery .

@stevieb     Don't you think we make the choice as to what we read or watch?  I'm asking this because I'm interested in what you think.  In my mind, I can't understand at what point we wouldn't have that choice?

@Sapphiregal  I agree with both the points of view you expressed in our original post. The volume of pandemic posts has been daunting and the boards seem to have become increasingly restrictive.

Yes, and it goes way overboard. For example, it gets annoying when people post all the pages of stats, numbers and graphs and of course the daily tallies of Covid deaths. Do we need that on a shopping message board?  Everyday someone must post the XXX number dead from Covid. Like we don't know that already?  Leave all the numbers , charts, etc. on the many many news sites that have already posted them.

It's the usual suspects posting so called news stories about it. I read and watch news.I do not come here to get my news. If people come here for their news they aren't terribly informed.

I agree wholeheartedly as well as there are the usual suspects who come out to whine, moan and complain about those same news stories. It's a neverending cycle and terminally boring.

.

And those who who never fail to appear to whine, moan and complain about those whining, moaning and complaining... It's circular and, so, yep endless...

@SharkE  Oh yea, one can always predict how certain threads will go...  along with the stance certain posters will take... I'd say the herd has been thinned quite a bit with the inception of the 'new' boards, but would agree, there are a few I wouldn't miss were they to shuffle off and I'm sure they feel the same about me...

@stevieb

I'd miss you too

I got my first shot of the Pfizer vaccine today.  Go back in 3 weeks for the 2nd shot.  It was in the parking lot of a community college not too far from me.  Very well organized and everyone was so nice.

@Catty2

You made me laugh out loud.

High five!!

I am still awaiting permission to get my shot. I am 53, so I am not a priority.

@Porcelain  I love your optimism but won't be as assured as you are until they determine how long the shots gives immunity for. They just don't know yet -- the shots are too new.

@Pearlee  Yes, there's that and then there's the question of exactly how long it'll take for some of us to get those shots... My county continues moving at a snails pace... There's also the matter of what shots we'll get once we can get them and whether those of us in the apparent 'also ran' contingent will enjoy the same level of protections as others... I'll be optimistic when I see bona fide reasons to be so... Until then, it remains a challenge to be all perky...

@jubilant  My point being we make the choice from among what's here and from the pool we're allowed to pick from, which some might view as a pretty shallow pool... Smiley Wink

@Lipstickdiva  I know, right?  And if they're so sick of certain topics why they should simply post topics that they are interested in. Easy peasy.

I have't read through all the posts, so sorry if this one irritates anyone.

I got my 2nd Pfizer shot this past Wednesday.  I had no side affects.  The only time my arm hurt was if I pressed on the area of the shot.  (I'm well over 65).

What I want to add is that I've had a few friends that got the Pfizer and had no problems.  I've had 2 or 3 friends who got the Moderna and had fever and feeling sick the next day.  But it only lasted one day in both cases.  My friends are also all over 65.

I've heard all along that the reactions (for those who might have a reaction) appear to be worse for those under 65, but I don't know if there was any differentiation between Pfizer and Moderna for that study.

@Krimpette

I only know 1 person that got the Moderna vaccine. That is my brother-in-law, and his 2nd shot is in 4 weeks, whereas our Pfizer shots were exactly 21 days later.

My brother-in-law got his #1 Moderna a week ago today and he had only the sore arm thus far from that shot. He is 68.
