Re: The Sidewalk Café.....a great place for friendly chat!

Good Morning! Well, it's bitter cold today but at least there's not snow, ice or freezing rain. It's going to get warmer as the week goes on and it will be in the fifties by the weekend. Most of the counties in the surrounding area closed the schools today because of the cold. Luckily, I'm not working today.

Possummink--Oh my! I read your post and I'm glad you finally made it to Florida. The weather creates so many problems for traveling. I heard that people were stranded on a train trying to get to Chicago.

bagaholic--I totally understand about not wanting to fly. I've never had a bad experience flying but I really don't like to fly and only fly when I have to. Now that DH is nearing retirement age and our children are educated we will most likely start taking more trips and will be flying more often. There are a few places I want to see and I'll have to get on a plane to see them.

I've got dibs on that hammock, Dame. Tell Linda hello for me. I've been thinking about her. She is a model of strength for us all.

Wow, possummink, I'm glad you are back in FL. That sounds like a trip from HEdoublesticks!

viva, hope you are staying warm. How's the foot?

Waving to Hayfield. I know you are glad to be home today!

Re: The Sidewalk Café.....a great place for friendly chat!

Hi Everyone,

elegant, Happy Belated Birthday !!!

possummink, I agree what an ordeal you had to go thru , I'm glad you're safely back in Florida as I'm sure you are too ......

Puddles, my Mom's doing fine , we still talk every Saturday . In her Christmas card she mentioned that she's thankful she has a warm and safe place to stay at. At home she'd be feeding the wood stove all day. She says everyone's real nice staff and owners of the home, food is really good and plenty of it.....

Missy's doing well, I was off during the Holidays and she liked that " her little heater was on most of the day so she could lay in front of it...... I turn it on as soon as I get up and after she eats that's where she is until I leave the house for work , she makes all kinds of noise when I go to turn it off; she;s so funny.......

I hope you and Ian are well . How's little Snow white doing ?

Lunch break's almost over ......

Everyone, stay safe and warm !

Re: The Sidewalk Café.....a great place for friendly chat!

viva, keeping up with chores will keep you warm! I hope you warm up this weekend.

sassy lassy, that's great news that your Mom likes her "warm and safe place." It sounds like a really nice home. I know it's a relief for you. I thought maybe Missy would enjoy having you home for the holidays. I don't blame her for spending as much time as possible in front of her little heater. Snow White stayed with us for Christmas and she was spoiled, but I think it was more fun for us than her. Her favorite place is laying on Ian's feet. Ian and I are both well and happy. We start the remodel on our bathroom the end of this month. We love our new kitchen and can't wait for a new bathroom. We will carpet & paint throughout and complete the window replacements in early Spring, then we need to install new wardrobes and buy a few pieces of furniture and ta da, we will have a new flat.Smile

Re: The Sidewalk Café.....a great place for friendly chat!

hello this afternoon here

Watched NCIS this afternoon, this was a good story. I really like that new gal they got in for Ziva.

Love how they are working the characters. I do not recall that lady written in for Gibbs. It is an EX of some kind, not an ex wife but an ex.

OK guys talk with u all later.

_PorchView.jpg (504×337)Yes--it's that time of the year again! Favorite tropical porches! I won't make it without them!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Hi Sassy-So glad your Mom is doing well and liking her new home! What a relief that must be for you.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}Glad Missy is enjoying the heater. My cats have started to blend in with the furniture as they try finding new places to huncker down in! I have to look before I sit down.Wink

Puddles loving the fun things you are posting. I saw the waves on the coast of Wales and Portugal on the internet. Downright scary! I hope the flooding has stopped? Your flat is going to be so beautiful and just the way you want it! I'm reading about Julia Childs and it just seems to remind me of you when she talks about all their travels in Europe. So glad you are both healthy and having fun. I'd say Miss Snow White is one lucky furbaby.{#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Viva--Remember a few seasons back when Gibbs was dating the Army officer? And then she was gone the next season and they just said she had transferred to Hawaii? She was the one who worked cases with NCIS for the whole season (and Gibbs and she were romantically involved). She looks very different with civilian clothes-looser, softer hairdo and softer make-up. I think they just wanted to put an ending on that romance as I was one who wondered where she had gone the next season. It was several years back and it took me a few minutes to place her too! Glad they tied that loose end up! Seems that's what they were doing in this episode--tying up loose ends and totally changing the focus to Maghee. I think "Bishop" is fitting in well. Funny--the way they have her hair and all--she reminds me of Ziva and I don't think that's an accident. I expect her "look" will change a bit as she goes along. The character she's playing is interesting and totally opposite Kate and Ziva so it keeps my interest. Stay warm!

Loves--Praying for you all to have a wonderful event very soon!{#emotions_dlg.wub}

Possum--Have you recovered yet? Hope so!{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}I know Atlanta was way too cold but how is it in Tampa?

Dad survived 3 straight mornings of arctic morning appointments but that sore on his foot just won't heal. Well--it sort of heals-scabs over and then peels.{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}I'm praying it just plain heals up and stops impeding his walking; he's super tough but it's been a long 5 months for him since he broke his foot. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}Things are so "up in the air" right now and I know "tax time" will be upon us too soon. I have a gadzillion things to do with their house and all. It can be overwhelming if I let my guard down. I read the other day that if you just start saying "Jesus I trust you" (insert whatever works for you) whenever you start feeling nervous about the situation that you will calm your mind and spirit down after awhile so I'm saying that everytime the future looms! One day~one trial~ at a time. That's my plan.

Hi to Lulutoby-Hayfield-Terrry-Bobbisue-Anika-Grands-Emy-Nana and our one and only PUDDLES!{#emotions_dlg.biggrin} Have a great Thursday everybody!

Love & HOPE & blessings--Dame{#emotions_dlg.wub}
