Every year my UPS man tells me the seasonal hires are a disaster. Trucks are improperly loaded (yes, they have a system for doing this), the second person on the truck gets tired or doesn't want to carry the heavier boxes ... you name it, they encounter it. I find the Postal Service carriers to be worse: like another poster said, they cram small packages into mailboxes - I even had one bend a book in half: when I brought the damaged book to the local Postmaster, he said the packaging didn't say it couldn't be folded in half. How's that for customer service? This year, I bought early and had no problems. That may be the secret to holiday shopping.

I have to say I haven't had any issues with deliveries, Amazon, Zappos, Chewey...all good, can't say the same about QVC however.

Amazon backed themselves into a corner...especially during the holiday season..... As they draw more and more customers to their website they have no choice and need to invest more and more money in shipping and delivery to meet the expectations that customers have now.....And guess who is they are going to pass these added costs on to.....I'd really start to comparison shop....you will hear more and more Amazon isnt always the best price.....
And the negatives about online shopping are popping up too with "porch pirates".......
I wonder if we will see more and more of a trend of people ordering online but picking up at the store like Target & Walmart offer.....that way people still get their merchandise quickly and no worries about packages being stolen.....

Someone on our neighborhood website reported seeing a pick-up following a UPS truck. The bed had a bunch of packages in it accompanied by a couple of men. When she walked out toward the street, they took off. She was unable to get a license number but called the police. Made me wonder if UPS drivers don't notice these things?
In some cities Amazon has its own fleet, and they also use independent contractors to deliver their merchandise....and one of these independent contractors photographed leaving and package and few minutes later he stole that package!!! I wouldnt put the blame on UPS....

My carrier does the same thing loves to STUFF things in my mailbox, especially clothes.... but then whats strange something like a hardcover book which is marked book rate he takes to the Mail Center in our Condo Complex so I have to pick up the package....SMH!
No problems whatsover with UPS....!!!!

When I shop amazon I nearly always choose the slower deliverly to get the 1.00 digital credit to use on kindle books.

Darlingdino, thank you for sharing your husbands story. I forget that when I worked in an office, our UPS guy was always running at top speed. We would give him his favorite soda and cookies if he came before we were ready. It's employees like him that keep the deliveries moving. Thanks to all the delivery people.
