So funny.... I paid $11.00 for 18 eggs today. Gotta have eggs regardless of how expensive they are.

I get Trader Joe's, Organic jumbo brown eggs, vegetarian fed, free range . For 4.99. You  are allowed one. The conventional stores I heard here in California sell from 5.99-8.50

I dont normally eat eggs, but I happened to notice, on Amz Prime, (which is new to me)  the following price for eggs:

"Amazon Brand - Happy Belly Cage-Free, Large, White Eggs, 1 Dozen

($ 3.79)

"Amazon Brand - Happy Belly Cage Free Large White Eggs, Grade A, 18 Count

($4.79)

And Amz seems to offer a whole lot of pkgs of "?egg products."

Does a normal, every day family, (not restaurant family), buy 5 dozen eggs at a time?

Does Costco sell them only in 5 doz increments?

I think I'd accidently break some of 5 doz eggs, just getting them into the house, before putting them away.

The 5 dozen come in a box. They also have a pack of 2 dozen but I don't remember how much they were, but, I believe they were pretty reasonable too. I eat eggs a couple of times a week so wil use 5 dozen within a month.

There is a family in our neighborhood that has a small farm.  They were selling fresh eggs, until recently.  Apparently someone dropped a dime & next thing you know Code Enforcement shut them down.  They didn't have a small business license & seems they don't intend on getting one as they didn't resume "business as usual."  With the prices the way they are, I bet someone is sorry they put a kibosh on the egg shelling, I mean egg selling.  Smiley Happy

Large size eggs were nearly $5 at my Meijer today. Jumbo size eggs were $3.39. Look me being a value shopper.

Since I only eat hard-boiled eggs I think I'm going to buy the ready-to-eat hard-boiled eggs from the store. They cost about the same as uncooked eggs plus I won't have to spent money on the electricity to cook them.
