Hi Sheltie, MoJo, Beastie, Panda, Luvs, Lucy and Matty. Stopping by to say hello. Been an awful winter in Connecticut this year. Been feeling lousey. Flu, fell down the stairs and tore a few ligaments in my foot, and other issues. Dont want to sound so complaining, lot's of people have a lot worse!! So haven't been able to walk Hero much. Starting to feel better, but still hurts. But Hero doesn't like cold and wind, so he's ok. Will be walking regularly soon I hope. We're all waiting for this darn winter to end.

Lucy, I can relate to your munchkins doing that. Our first dog JD had issues with that. One day my son called and told me to sit down. Told me JD tore the living room couch apart. One day one of our guys pulled all the curtains off the windows. Garbage pail was always an issue too. NOT FUN !! Gotta love them {#emotions_dlg.wub}

Beastie, we had one day recently it was in the 30s. It did feel balmy. Then it went back down the next day. My sister-in-law is upstate NY, she's had it awful. Usually 10 or more degrees colder than us and a lot more snow. She's been sick since Halloween. Everybody will happy when spring arrives.

Kiss the furbabies for Hero and I. Stay warm and safe.

Hi, NChgOfMyAttitude (love your name!)--I hope you are hanging in there and feeling better. I don't consider it complaining: it is much needed venting! The good news is that winter WILL come to an end!

Had to respond to your tale about JD tearing apart the couch and the curtain issue. Our two have destroyed THREE entire couches, tore our living room curtains literally in half, and demolished four living room chairs. Seriously. We have never had this much destruction. Then.......they are the sweetest and most loveable dogs. And yes, gotta love them! Despite the drama, we would not trade them for anything!

Take care everyone and stay warm!

NCOMA - I wish you warmer weather. I remember how boxers dislike the cold.

sheltiemom - hump day came with the promise of snow which we did not get much of.

Happy Friday everyone.

Re: The Pet Chat Corner Feb. 23 - March 2, 2015

I just have to complain and whine: tonight I tripped and fell in the garage over one of the dog's bones--landed on one of my knees. A few years ago I tripped over the open foot rest of the couch and landed on both kneecaps on our hardwood floors. Needless to say, I am not in good shape at the moment. Ironically, I usually try to make sure their toys are out of the way so my husband doesn't trip over them. {#emotions_dlg.glare} Quite frankly, I have feared tripping over our 90 lb Lab....immediately in anger and pain, I threw the offending bone away. Our Lab will not miss it one bit.

Thanks to all for letting me vent....I hope everyone is safe and warm and all furbabies are doing well!

Re: The Pet Chat Corner Feb. 23 - March 2, 2015

Hello, happy Saturday. It is sunny and 5 degrees. We will wait until it gets up to 10 and try to get our walk around the block. Made the mistake of trying it yesterday morning because Lily insisted but haflway around she sat down, the paws came up and momma had to carry her home, lol!

Matty, hope Steven has a good doctor appt. this morning, glad he is starting to feel like himself again!

beastie, I hear you on the tease of warmer weather. It got up in the 20s last weekend and it seemed like a heat wave!

panda, hope you are doing ok during this long winter we are enduring.

MoJo, you must have been kept busy with those nieces of yours, gosh, little ones have so much energy! Me not, so much, lol! I can relate with your trying to get Angie a walk when you can. I swear Lily gets depressed when we cannot get out and about. (not to mention she has gained about 5 lbs this winter, which is really bad.)

NChg, I hope your foot continues to heal and that we will eventually get warmer temps so you and Hero can get out and about too. My friend that has a boxer was finally able to get her down to the canal for a walk, but it is a struggle to find areas where you can get through all the snow.... sigh... it will be spring soon, won't it?!

LuvMySpaniels, I'm sorry to hear about the water damage at your school. I know lots of pipes have been bursting and water mains too.

lucy, what is it with dogs tearing their beds apart? Fortunately Lily has left her nice dog bed alone, but she is working on destroying her box in the kitchen. Funny as it sounds, she likes to sleep in a cardboard box like a cat and after totally destroying her LandsEnd box, DH found a new one for her and she is tearing that apart as fast as she can.

Doxie, I am glad to see your post.

I would like to ask for prayers for our friend Doxie's dog Schatzie who is having some health problems. I think that is why we haven't heard much from our friend, and I know prayers would be appreciated.

Take care everyone, hope you have some time to enjoy the sunshine this weekend, and stay warm.

Wow....Lucy and NChg, You two probably now have back issues from falling and tripping. So sorry to read about these terrible mishaps. I have an MRI scheduled for Wed. due to an animal related accident....tripped over my cat, Moses, two wks. ago and have not recovered. I now do not walk anywhere in the house without turning on lights. Hope you both feel better soon! Happy Saturday everyone.....perhaps in mid March, we will be blessed with temps above freezing.

Re: The Pet Chat Corner Feb. 23 - March 2, 2015

Happy Saturday to my PCC friends and furbabies,

Sheltie and Beastie: Thank you for being so inspirational!

Matty: I hope Steve got some good news today at his heart doctor.

Doxie: Good to hear from you and of course, you have my prayers for Schatzie!

LuvMySpaniels: Thank you for asking about our weather. We were very fortunate that the snow and ice missed our county and we received rain only. I can feel for your primary school and the angst of having to relocate students to another location for school. Luckily, children are resilient...it's the adults that seem to have a harder time with change.{#emotions_dlg.blink}

Oh no...Lucy, LuvMySpaniels and NCOMA...my prayers are with all three of you for you to get well soon! Hugs to all of you!

Stay safe and warm, everyone as we move into March (if any of you were Jeanne Bice from Quacker Factory fans, she would say "Murky March").

Thanks, again for your prayers. I am hoping by the end of March, my uneasy situation will be resolved. Also, I found out that I will need a third kidney tumor surgery and it will be on April 1st.

Have a blessed weekend! Hugs those furbabies for me!

Hugs, prayers and love!{#emotions_dlg.wub}

Re: The Pet Chat Corner Feb. 23 - March 2, 2015

Thank you so much for all of the good wishes--you are all so kind! I am doing okay for now--stiff and sore and icing the 'ol knee (yikes! Have already been cold from this great weather....is now snowing again. However, a good time to hunker down with the furbabies and watch these wonderful old movies on TCM!) Our black Lab is standing here with her huge black head in my space while I type....wanting....????? Probably her bone I tripped over and threw away. LOL!

Best wishes to all on PCC Board and to every furbaby! I hope everyone who has been ill/taken a tumble is healing and taking good care.

Matty6--am SO glad that your husband is doing well! And it is great that you can feel your furbabies around you....those feelings will always be with you!
