We absolutely love Nextdoor.com since it started up in our area. It's so easy to take a picture on my phone and post it to "free" or "classified". This weekend, we set out two pieces of exercise equipment one day and five wooden (old) dining room chairs another day and they were gone the same day. Love it.

I just heard of Nextdoor a few weeks ago, but it's a tiny one limited to 4 streets in my town and I'm one street outside their territory!  Fortunately, our local Chamber of Commerce has run a local website for over 10 years now.  We can run free ads, advertize events like reunions, access links to pretty much everything local and that includes local weather.  It's my nextdoor site for here.

And then just in the 3 weeks since I learned of Nextdoor locally, I had an email from a Florida neighbor inviting me to join it in my condo neighborhood.  That will fill a need for me there because there's not another option for that neighborhood.

I'm assuming Nextdoor is a new and upcoming site???

@pattypeep  I love it too.  I found a repair person who came out the same day I called him and he fixed two problems I had been trying to find someone to fix for months.  No one else wanted to fix something only worth $500.   I use suggestions for fix it people all the time.  And like you said.. if you have anything to either sell or give away, they are gone usually the same day.

It's a GREAT site. I recommended several service people --- and several were recommended to me. Many lost dogs --- and found by neighbors. Sharing information about every subject and situation!!!!!!!!!!!!

@pattypeep, I am only vaguely familiar with this concept, but I just had to say that whenever we decide to put something (small or large) on the curb (labeled "free," it seems that it is gone almost as fast as it take me to get back inside my house.  It's fascinating.

I'm a new user to this website.  At first, it seemed like a good way to connect with other locals.  Now, it seems like it's just a way for real estate agents to advertise

our local site is full of real estate ads, and many users aren't happy.  Other users claim that the ads pay for the site to exist.  I'm on the fence.....
