Do you have amazon prime? I use instacart also, and I am aware of the mark up. What I do to save is see if I can buy some products at other places. I hate amazon ( but they got me) and I buy some products through amazon. Most of the time they are cheaper.

@Janey2 @Yes, I have Prime. So far, I have not ordered much from Fresh or Whole Foods but I'm going to do so. I feel ripped off by the I. Basically, those that need to stay safe the most by staying home are getting charged the most. It's a choice between exposures or paying $$$.

When WM & Target didn’t have any Pumpkin Pie Spice I looked on Amazon. I got a very good deal. Usually, a bit of shopping around will result in finding a decent price for what we are looking for.

No idea if my local Publix has any; I haven’t shopped there since mid-March because I won’t use Instacart.

But Amazon has some amusing markups on some items. They do ask that we report them to Amazon so they can get rid of them.

Here's a unique pricing qwerk----

Our grocery store, HEB, partners with Instacart.... The odd thing is that HEB stores in our city sets different prices depending on the competition.....If a store is located near a Costco or Walmart or Super Target or Sam's, HEB will offer lower prices and if there's no competition, their prices will be slightly higher....  So what HEB did with Instacart is average out the prices for all their stores in our city---making some of the prices slightly higher, some the same, and some slightly lower using Instacart ....But as @Janey2  pointed out HEB set Instacart's prices

I partnered with Instacart 2 yrs ago and its worth the convenience for me....Also, it helps me to stick to my shopping list rather than impulse buy so I save money that way....And since I signed up as an Express Member I dont pay a delivery fee...only a $2 service fee....and the Membership amounted to $10 a month ......

I try to take advantage of online coupons offered by Instacart---I got a $1 off on Tide for example and got a $1.50 off on Crest toothpaste!

Yowza.  That's some mark up.  I've never used Instacart because I assumed you'd pay highly for the convenience.  I shop at Kroger/Dillons -- they have free pick-up service and prices are the same inside the store as they are for pick-up.   Just place your order on their website, then drive to their parking lot and open your car trunk.  Easy peezy.  And they accept online and paper coupons.  They also offer home delivery for $5.

Instacart seems like a big rip-off to me.
