For Queen Elizabeth I thought she looked quite happy.  What a tiring day that must have been.

I agree with someone who said that the seating in the Cathedral not

facing forward might have been a problem .. I can't sit with my neck

turned like that for and hour and a half and I'm only 70 .. let alone 90 ....

The Queen looked less than thrilled with it.

I must have missed that, every time I saw her, she wasn't smiling.

Some of these response have me so confused. I would think that one would look at the couple as they are saying their vows. Of course, they aren't going to focus on them during the entire ceremony. One can be reserved and paying attention at the same time.

I have sat through hundreds of dinner events and award ceremonies and such for my work in addition to weddings, funerals and graduations so I am certainly well qualified to make a comment on this.

I watched the ceremony, but NO I did now see what you saw.  I didn't see people in the Royal family not paying attention.

I saw people sitting through a long ceremony.

I really believe everyone was very happy!  The camera just caught various family members at different times during the ceremony and sometimes they might not be smiling or looking directly at Harry and Meghan because it was a long ceremony!  Most of us might look away or look at something else in that beautiful chapel for a few seconds!

And as another poster mentioned the queen is 92 years old!Woman Wink

Re: The Looks on their Faces--Extended Royal Family

The Queen and Phillip are very old. Old people tire easily. Phillip is still recovering from major surgery

The Queen has to set through things ,all the time. I am sure she doesn't feel the need to paint a smile on her face, just to make other people happy

She loves those boys, and all of her grandchildren

She is also the head of that church ,and represents their faith. It is more for her, than just the wedding of her grandchild...the meanness of some people makes me sick

@Big Joanie

OP's "Little Book of Wedding Etiquette" states that she must keep that grin on her face from beginning to end, with her eyes fixed on the bride and groom.  As must everyone in attendance.

They can relax their facial muscles and stretch their necks when they get home.
