The Hottest day recorded here in St. Louis was on 7/14/54 when it hit 115 degrees ! It was in the 90's here today. I know some of you have close to that temp now or maybe hotter. Do you know what's been the hottest temp ever where you are?

They keep giving a different town (Atlantic City) for the hottest temp, so I have no idea for my town.
But the hottest day ever in the state of New Jersey was 110 degrees on July 10, 1936.

The hottest temperature recorded in Phoenix was 122 degrees on June 26, 1990.
The record for the highest overnight "low" temperature was set on July 6, 2018, at 94 degrees.
Today's high in Phoenix was 117, and the low this morning was 93.

I worked and lived in Mojave Desert for 23 years and we routinely had at least 100 degree days; one summer we had a string of days where it reached 110. We were about 35 miles from Death Valley, where its supposed to reach 130 this weekend, so I'm sure Ridgecrest will be around 120. When I retired I moved to Northeastern AZ (6500 feet) were we are currently in low 90s; we feel very fortunate to be where we are.

Hi, @Goodie2shoes ! Las Vegas is officially at 117 for the hottest day, although unofficial records suggest 118 ion 7/26/31. We are challenging that this weekend. It was 112 today where I am in Henderson, Vegas burbs, Green Valley. Supposed to be 117 tomorrow, 119 on Sunday, 116 on Monday, per weather channel. Local forecasts seem to be a bit lower. But it's a dry heat! LOL

I live in Riverside County, California. We are definitely in the low 100's for the next week.
This morning I was watching the local news and they had mentioned that they were closing the trails in Death Valley because the temperatures were expected to hit the 130 degree mark. The tourist for some reason i don't understand are flocking there. (WHAT) Idiots is all that I have to say. Seriously you have to be told not to go hiking in these extreme temperatures.

@icezeus : I read the same article about tourists flocking to Death Valley. Upon reading further, many of these tourists are Germans; who love extreme adventures ( I lived in Germany for 8 years).
