Who watched the Grammys? What did you think?
While I appreciate Adele paying tribute to George Michael, sorry its just not the same. I would have rather watched videos of George himself. Also, all of the singers that did the tribute to the Bee Gees (when Barry Gibbs was in the audience). I was not impressed! Again would rather Barry sang himself!. I did however think Bruno Mars did a pretty good tribute to Prince.
Anyway, you just cant beat the originals even though I like alot of singers now days also.
I did like Adele singing Hello, and I love all of Ed Sheerans music, and Bruno Mars I love too. I think Beyonce is over rated, although I love her older music! I don't like country music though, but I loved the song with Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood (which didn't sound country to me).
Lastly, Gaga was ok with Metallica, although I like Gaga alone doing her songs much better!
Anyway, I guess Im picky about people doing older music because I loved the originals so much.
I do keep up with the music now days, thanks to my older teen granddaughters I love the Chain Smokers (and Halsy), and I love Twenty One pilots both of whom didnt perform tonight but I bought their cds. I try to stay cool..lol..(Kidding! ! I just love lots of music!).
You?

Did not watch the grammys but turned the news on at 10pm and Bruno Mars was channeling Prince.. as usual he was brilliant and the performance was amazing.
Went to watch Bruno again on youtube and Beyonce's performance came up - she was awful.
Cannot comment on any of the other acts.

Bruno Mars was excellent doing Prince. Of course, I always like John Legend with his unique voice. I had no idea what Beyonce was singing/doing as it was quite bazaar. I actually really liked Keith Urban and Carrie and I am not a country fan but it was a different country sound. It was actually a good program for once. ![]()

I enjoyed the program. I sometimes did not know who was performing and wish they would put the name at the bottom of the screen. Some of the rappers I had no idea who they were.

I know Adelle is revered but I just can't get with it, her antics last night reconfirmed my disgust.

Adele ruled the show! That voice is amazing and she sings without all the distracting additions such as clothes that are barely there if you know what I mean, dancers, costumes, special effects and voice enhacements! And she's real! She could teach Mariah a thing or 2 about charm and grace! I rarely watch the show except for the beginning which sets the tone for the night. So when I saw that Adele opened the show with that great song I knew we were in for a treat. And when she stopped singing her tribute song to George Michael because she thought she was doing a bad job of honoring him and she wanted to start over - well, that was a professional artist in action. And she nailed it the second time! We need to see and hear more like her! So, Adele, you go girl!!!

I have this single from his album. And they did what I hate about country music, they made it a more rock arrangement for this.
They will probably release this version to pop radio.

I watched until 10 p.m. and was sorry I didn't watch Homeland instead.
While I acknowledge the talent of these artists, I think the music, the songs are horrid. I cringe every time I hear what I find to be an annoying hook in a famous song (like "Hello") and I cringe at "Send My Love" (and the video). I also cringe at Katy Perry's voice.
I really like Beyonce's voice, but not her later music. I don't know what her performance was about last night, but it certainly looked to me like "Worship Me".
I can watch and listen to Bruno Mars all night. :-)

I wish the entire show had been Bruno Mars! He and his band were outstanding and fabulous and brilliant as always. What pros!!! And Bruno's smile is the most amazing thing, he's so charming and talented and, well, you get the idea.
While I love Adele's "Hello", I thought her performance was kind of flat and she seemed to smile at odd points in the song, which, if I understand the lyrics correctly, isn't a happy kinda song.
What the heck was Beyonce trying to do? I don't listen to her as I find her music to be boring, boring, boring, but I have seen her on other music shows and she's always really provocative and scantilly dressed and bumping and grinding and all and last nite she shows up like the Virgin Mary. Or was she a pregnant Statue of Liberty? And then she comes out with that gold headdress on for her award., acting all Untouchable and Earth Mother (albeit with perfectly prominent and shiny boobs). I agree she's one of the most overrated performers out there.
I hated Lady Gaga's performance with Metallica. Made my head hurt.
Katy Perry was dreadful. She's always dreadfull. Although she tries hard, bless her heart.
I loved the guys who performed just before Bruno Mars did his Prince triburte, too. They were great.
The Bee Gees tribute was kind of sad. Was that Demi Lovato singing, "you can tell by the way I use my walk I'm a woman's man", What? They couln't get a guy to sing those lyrics?
I did not see the last 30 minutes or so. I ended my viewing on a high point, Bruno Mars doing the Prince tribute.

Wish Adele hadn't been so "aplogetic" to Beyonce when she won. Adele deserved that win and I hate that she made it all about Beyonce. She's better than that and didn't need to do that, she should have stood tall, accepted it and owned it. Not sorry bee hive - I'm owning this one!
