The Good News OR The Bad News?

When someone says to you, "I have good news and bad news," which do you want to hear first?

I always ask for the bad news first, because I know I won't enjoy the good news, knowing the bad will follow.

Do you want the good or the bad news first?

PS I think it's a stupid question to ask, but many people do ask it anyway.
