Re: The Ever Gracious Garth Brooks

@KingstonsMom - I didn't say it was just because of the one tweet.

Eric Church is a cry baby.

I put him right up there with Kanye saying Beyonce deserved to win over Taylor Swift.

It's just crass.

Maybe Eric needs to step up his game and be a leader, you know, one of the criteria needed to win this award.

I agree that this was a nice thing for him to do.  I thought I also heard that he can not withdraw from this award - he does not have that option.

In any event, if Garth can and does withdraw, how is the person who does win going to feel?  I would feel that I was not the true winner because he was out of the running. It would feel like a second place win.

Absolutely! I never had the opportunity to see him in concert. He seems so down to earth.

The country entertainers are a rare breed. They are all so kind and generous. Love that their award shows are just about the artiists and nothing else (unlike other entertainer award shows). I've been a sole country music fan for many years. Doesn't suprise me at all what Garth Brooks did. Heart

Re: The Ever Gracious Garth Brooks

The report I heard said that he hadn't been officially nominated (yet at the time of his announcement) and so couldn't really be withdrawing from anything. Was more of an attempt to not get nominated?

I think he's a good guy. Can't sing a lick, but is a great entertainer.

Feels like a publicity move as much as a gesture, in my opinion.

@Mominohio

"Can't sing a lick"?

Then why has he accrued so many awards, LOL?

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
