Hi Everyone,
I recently posted about my dog having skin allergies. I got lots of great replies and suggestions on how to help him. One idea the vet had was that my pup has a flea allergy. This was always a little confusing to me b/c I had never spotted a flea on him EVER. But my vet explained that to those dogs that are highly allergic, one flea bite would be enough to send them into an itching frenzy.
Well, guess what I found on my dog? A Flea! Not just one flea, but a few fleas here and there over the past week. The first obvious indicator that FLEAS are among us. Which completely grosses me out. No, I don't see fleas jumping off the couch, or on the bed, but I am perfectly aware that I don't have to see them for them to be in my house.
My first question is: How do I treat my dog's fleas now that I KNOW that they are there? I treat him monthly with Frontline (which obviously did not help).
My second question is: How do I treat my house? It's certainly not an infestation, but they are here. And I need to do what I can to get rid of them.
Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.
