I loved it and highly recommend it. Unless, of course, you don't care for Oprah, in which case, just skip it.

If you go to see this movie keep in mind that it is not a documentary. It is a work of historical fiction.

I really liked the movie, but was surprised to later find out so much was added for the sake of the movie.

Here's a link to explain the differences- warning SPOILERS

I don't care for Oprah, but I still liked the movie and still thought she did a really fine job. If I skipped every movie that had an actor that I didn't care for as a person, I would miss a lot of good movies.

I think it deserved more nominations, but the timing of it's release was lousy. It was released way too early in the eligibility time frame.....the Academy (and other such groups who bestow these honors) sometimes has a very short memory.

I agree.....Oprah was great, even though I can't stand her, so was Forest Whitaker.

Parts were quite heavy. It's not a lighthearted movie. It's worth renting, IMO.

I was really sad to learn this was a fictional account....I really wanted to see a true story on the subject.

Not an Oprah fan. Tried to like the movie but just couldn't get into it. I thought it told an interesting story although not sure how much was fiction. I got distracted by trying to figure out the difference between fact and fiction. And then Oprah's face kept appearing on the screen. Ugh.
