ANOTHER highly recommended movie. Excellent acting!

But better than the acting, the script made a complicated story easier to follow.

I read the book a few years ago - the movie explained the financial meltdown ever better than the book - and in a very entertaining way too.

This should be required viewing by every US citizen, IMO. At least those who want a little insight into the nightmare we all lived through seven years ago.

DH & I saw this movie before Christmas and agree it was well written & acted. I got the book (same title) by Michael Lewis for DH to to read for Christmas. Lewis is also the author of Liar's Poker & Moneyball.

It didn't open locally until Wednesday!

My son said it opened in LA and NYC over a month ago.

Hearing that the book was written by Michael Lewis has piqued my interest. Besides the other books listed, he wrote the Blind Side, about football player Michael Oher. I learned more about football reading that book than I ever did watching the game. The Big Short is now on my wish list at Amazon. Excellent writer. Thanks @JustJazzmom and @terrier3,

I LOVE his books - the only one that I haven't read is The Blind Side!

He takes complicated situations and makes them understandable.

His book - The Flash Boys - is about Wall Street too and how they have rigged the markets with auto-trading.

DH and I listened to the audio book version of Flash Boys and enjoyed it. Once again another movie that won't play any closer than 65 miles. Since winter bad driving conditions have arrived will have to wait for video.

Eye opening, to say the least. A lot of people should've gone to jail. Excellent movie!

I really want to see it too and hope to get around to seeing in after everyone has gone back to work & school, maybe next week. Someone mentioned about how people should've have went to jail, I think some did but not enough. It's sad, it really is.
