While visiting relatives across the country this past summer, I took some really nice group photos, and individual shots. Rather than emailing copies or posting them on Facebook, I decided to get prints made and send cards with personalized notes to them.
Well, it's been more than a month and I never heard a thing...the daughters are in their 20s and the parents in their 50's. They post stupid stuff on Facebook all the time ("I'm so tired", "I ate a bagel for breakfast", etc.) and forward dumb emails. Wouldn't you think they'd be able to send me a quick note acknowledging the pix?
I guess I'm different, if someone does a nice thing, I thank them. Should I say something online or just let it go? The sad thing is, it makes me never want to do stuff like this again or post other photos I take because people don't appreciate anything anymore.
Since this is 'Viewpoints', any thoughts?
ps) One of the daughters got married prior to us visiting so we gave her a card/generous check. She thanked us when we handed the envelope but never got a thank you in the mail. I was brought up to send thank you's for wedding/major gifts. Sigh!
