Re: Thank you ME, VT, NJ, NY, PA

Purplebunny - I'm assuming you can't get out to the store for food. Do New England folks stock up heavily in advance? Since this has been going on for way too long, how do you know how much food to get?

I'm from the south and even though we get our share of cold weather, it's nothing like what is going on in your part of the world. Just curious. Sure hope you and yours are safe, warm and have plenty to keep you going. Sending warm hugs (((( Smile ))))

Yes Anika, we really appreciate you neighbors more than ever!!!! Pom - we are out and about!! Yes, we go and get supplies before the big ones, but we don't go crazy. Today I took my kitten to the vet - many roads were closed and parking was a nightmare, but we did it!! Ran some errands and went out for a burger. It's slow going, sloppy, and some what treacherous, but life must go on. We have SUCH cabin fever at this point, we leave the house the first chance we get. Thank you for the warm hugs - it's frigid!! And we are expecting 4-6 more inches tomorrow and another big storm over the weekend.

Bunny, take care and be safe. Are you able to get out to buy food? We saw this weather report on CNN tonight.

That's the easy part, it's winter. So, most people keep their pantry and freezer stocked. We get a lull between storms and that's when we go to shop. The real problem is getting to work or to medical appointments or out to check on elderly friends. If you can drive, there is no where to park when you get there and public transportation is almost non existent. In my case, it is taking me 3 hours to get to work and 4 hours to get home. And now they are saying transportation won't recover until mid March.

It's probably going to be really bad when all that snow starts to melt. Huge piles against peoples houses - I would think there would be danger of foundations caving in, not to mention just generalized flooding.

The whole New England area has been in my prayers.
