@dulwich There are a lot of new measles cases coming up in one northern state because of the objectors, whatever the reason.  For the past years we have had to refight the polio fight and several bad diseases we had beaten down.

@ECBG   We made our appointments after hearing Dr on t.v. say if you were vaccinated more than 10 yrs ago you need to get b/work done to see if you need revaccination.  DH and I were vaccinated as children in U.K. more than 50 yrs ago! so I guess we qualify- we both had measles as children tho.  All will be revealed from b/work next week.

Why the heck are you asking here?  Talk to HER doctor.  Talk to YOUR doctor.  Talk to HER.

We had to pass muster for protection from a full spectrum of contagious diseases when my precious and amazing grandchild was born, and if someone had said to me-

“Mrs. Violann44, it’s time for your muddy water from a local farmyard shot”! I would have unhesitatingly whipped up my sleeve and taken it.

I appear to be one of those super fortunate old tough guys who has NEVER had a negative reaction to an immunization. Hopefully, I never will.

@dulwich   i am not sure if you can get just a tetanus shot? I got a DPT shot a year or so ago, and I will tell you I was sick enough to die from it

I told my Dr I would never get another. It protects you from tetanus, whooping cough and diphtheria

My younger son received a DPT shot at 4 months, in the peak years of early concerns about pediatric immunizations, and immediately demonstrated some of the symptoms that were described at the time as a negative response.

When I reported this to his pediatrician, I was told that although the shot was perfectly safe, the doctor would afterward administer a “DT” shot, omitting the Pertussis vaccine.

Our pediatrician stated firmly that he was protecting himself by doing this, although I trusted him ABSOLUTELY.

He said that the danger of him being sued was greater than my son’s danger of getting whooping cough. The years have proven that our pediatrician was most likely right.

@violann  I am glad it rarely happens, and I hope no one ever has the reaction I did. I have never been sick from any vaccine in my life

But it can happen ,unfortunately ,to some. I got the shot with confidence  ,because I had never suffered any  reaction to a vaccine ,in all of my 72 years

@cherry - years ago DH began a series of allergy shots with our tried and true family doctor, and one afternoon I got a call from the doctor’s office to inform me that my husband was “responding well” and wouldn’t “NEED HOSPITALIZATION!”

Since I had NO IDEA what they were talking about, they proceeded to inform me that he’d had a reaction to some ingredient of the carrier medium that contained the allergy treatment.

We we were all shocked and horrified, he stopped the shots, and currently lives through allergy season on OTC#.

I have never heard of this.It must not be a law, because we just got a new baby in our family. I'm the G-gramma...............

What they really need to do is insist on EVERYONE  getting shots like they did yrs ago when I and my kids  grew up! This stupid and dangerous thing of letting kids into school that are  NOT  vaccinated, is causing all the diseases we got rid of to reappear and cause epidemics everywhere!!!!!

Thank you for you information Ladies very helpful.

@dulwich   Your booster should be enough.

Gosh, this is another thing that never used to be done ---- and we all survived!

I'm sure my relatives didn't have tetanus shots when they vistied me as a baby.

I lived through that, no seat belts, no helmet on  when riding my bkke,  no 20 mph school zones, etc, etc, etc. .

@Pearlee, nope.

Well, if we are reading this then we survived!   "We all" = those reading this.
