We have a lot of brain power in the U.S. Let the best scientific minds get started on developing treatments.  Medications. That's the only way I will truly feel safe.
Vaccines. ok.  But, I've also gotten sick after flu vaccines.

There are problems with the tests, getting the tests, etc. I heard on the news some tests were produced in such a mad rush that they may not be reliable.  The govt body who would have handled this is no longer there.   The news from the very top is not consistent.

Along with Drs. Fauci & Birx, there should be a task force of scientific brainpower to guide us while figuring out the best medical way to treat and end this viral plague.

The government body that produces the test is the CDC and is still there. There were problems in the very begininng. At this point we have tests all over the country and we even have different kinds of testing now.

I'm not sure why people think that you can just snap your fingers and have a test ready and also have enough stuff to suddenly test over 300 million people. Machines have to run these tests and the vast majority of the over 3 million that have been done were run by the private sector. That this stuff has gotten up and running this quickly is pretty impressive in my opinion. And they said yesterday that the backlog at the private labs is over.

@Mom2Dogs Yes I thought so too. I think sometimes they are talking in scientific ways and the info gets muddled later. I think a ton of testing to them isn't the same as to those of us that are watching. They should really have medical reporters in there to ask questions.

At this point I think the wisest thing that people can do is to not listen to any reporting on this stuff that's being done by political shows or reporters and that goes for both sides. People have no clue what they are talking about and anyone who's been led to believe that every single person in this country can be tested is just not being realistic or for that matter fair. And of course anyone acting like the stuff we've done to slow this isn't part of what's working is also spinning.

@pigletsmom ....Agree.....It was also helpful when he clearly explained why testing everyone would not work...now if poeple would just understand that simple explanataion.

Yes he did explain it....but I fear it's just become a political talking point to demand that 330 million people be tested each day....forever.

@esmerelda Yes, not horribly but enough to notice.  I didn't care about myself but the fact that I could have given it my mom and her husband and the entire retirement community where they live was incredibly scary.  I'm beyond grateful that didn't happen.  My mother has luckily been a clean freak throughout the whole pandemic and is a constant hand washer anyway.

Amen. Amen. Amen.

And I would extend this to include a number of voices often raised on these very boards that have grown more than tiresome...

Guess I heard the best comment today....we have to learn how to live with the virus.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.
