Teresa, the Long Island Medium

What is up with that hair{#emotions_dlg.scared}, makeup{#emotions_dlg.scared} and those god awful{#emotions_dlg.scared} nails. She in going to be on Today show this morning and she has the claws painted this horrible white. They are so long they curl... how does she do any kind of personal hygiene with those nails? Very interesting.....

Re: Teresa, the Long Island Medium

Her look completely out of date, but is her trademark. People might feel she is for real, so I can't comment on that, but she told one lady, had her crying, that her Father kisses her and to tell her Mother he knows she misses him. How Generic is that? I listen to her comments when she is on talk shows or being interviewed and they are generic comments that fit anyone IMO. I am not critizing the people that believe in her, I think they are all phony.

Re: Teresa, the Long Island Medium

I work with someone whose wife does this stuff. He has told me he can give me a ""discount"" only $100.00 for a reading. I told him no thanks. This maybe how she makes a living but JMO I find it wrong to play on people's emotions about loved ones who have passed and to get $ for it.

Re: Teresa, the Long Island Medium

I did not see her on the Today show. Her new season just started last Sunday night. As for her nails, personally I could not wear nails that long; however, if she likes them that way, it doesn't affect me.

As for her hair, again, if it's what she likes, then who am I to say.

My DH and I enjoy watching her show and I think she has a great sense of humor. It's one of those shows that I find myself both laughing and crying during an episode.

We ended up getting tickets to see her in our area in April and are looking forward to it. A friend of a friend went to see her and said she was 'spot on' in her spirit readings. We are looking forward to it. Also DH bought me her book which I am enjoying reading.

I do not believe in mediums. IF someone gets closure and peace from words a medium gives someone who lost a loved one, so be it. It is their money to spend. But I think they are all quacks. Making a good living on other peoples grief and at a time when they are most vulnerable to someone like Teresa.

I saw her and her claws, lol, on the Today Show.

She told a guy working there that his Mother wasn't cold anymore. He was amazed because he said when he had touched his Mother in her coffin she had been cold. Duh! Aren't all dead people cold?

I have a hard time with this kind of thing.

Oh goodness, first thing popped into my mind was maybe she wasn't cold because she was not in heaven.. I am so sorry but that's what I thought.

Re: Teresa, the Long Island Medium

I don't believe anyone can have contact with the dead.

But, I do believe in ESP and that a so-called medium might have ESP abilities.

So, they are really "reading" the living person's feelings and memories, not communicating with a dead person.

Re: Teresa, the Long Island Medium

I like her well enough as a person, but I don't believe in her abilities. I feel anyone that posesses the type of gifts she claims to is rare. I've seen several detailed documenties on the subject. One was about a psychic that helped police, and another was just an ordinary teen. Both said that having their abilities was an unpleasant experience and nothing they'd ever wish on anyone.

Re: Teresa, the Long Island Medium

A lot of so-called "psychics" are excellent at reading people's body language. Even when you think you're not giving anything away, you are.

Also, people tend to remember the "hits", rather than all the misses that the "psychic" made.

Not only that, but person also tries to "fit" what the "psychic" says, so that it just seems like the "psychic" was right.
