The Tennessee grocery tax holiday lasts three months beginning Tuesday, Aug. 1. Most grocery items will be tax free from Aug. 1 until Oct. 31. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Most grocery items will be tax free in Tennessee will be tax free for three monts beginning Tuesday, Aug. 1.

That's great!  You should stock-up on non-perishables.

 

Groceries are always tax-free here in PA - and I think in most states - so I'm glad you're getting to experience it.

Groceries are also tax-free in Wisconsin.  Good news for Tennesseans.

Didn't realize that groceries were taxable.

 

When we lived in New Jersey clothing was tax free. Don't know if it's still that way. Those were the days.

@BoopOMatic This is wonderful news for the volunteer state!    I only wish Mississippi would jump on this too.   I live in a small one red light town and we have one grocery and pay 7 % taxes and also are required to pay a 10 % markup on the groceries we buy.
