Re: Teen Dies After Suspected Overdose at Northern Virginia High School

@icezeus  No, you're not wrong. No one has the perfect answer.  It's just that we, as a society, keep trying to fit substance use and abuse into existing paradigms and it just won't fit. Were substances legal, even if there were age requirements for obtaining them, I'd rather see a kid swiping a pill out of the medicine cabinet to experiment with than buying it on the street and getting whatever someone had handy to put in the pill. There's no perfect solution. I just think of all the time, effort and funds being wasted on programs that don't work and on legal interventions that are highly questionable. And, of course, the other part of it is once you make something once verboten not quite as forbidden there will be at least some loss of interest in it.

@icezeus  - I guess I feel that with legalization, its better regulated..... I'm not advocating drug use, but I accept the reality that it goes on daily in every pocket of society. I compare it to alcohol...

@hckynutjohn  - regulate and possibly take the stigma out of addiction...... drugs are here to stay just like alcohol.. It will always be a new somthing and humans will follow.
