Teen Depression

Anyone have experience with teenage depression? My daughter is 17 and having struggles, I am thinking she is depressed. She sees a therapist, but now they are saying she should maybe get an evaulation.

I am afraid that they might say to put her on medicine. I don't know anything about those type of meds. Do they work? Does it pull them out of their moods?
