@Bridgegal - your post made me chuckle! I have checked the organ donor box on my driver's license since I was 16. Anyway, I wouldn't want to donate my body. My in-law used to work for Ford at their crash test site in the Detroit area. Anyway, he and a coworker would drive to Ohio and pick up cadavers (who were not claimed by family/homeless) to be used for crash tests. Sad, creepy and became funny as we decided that we never wanted to become crash test dummies after death. But I am sure that those tests actually did/do great work as there is no way to accurately create a dummy that would react to a crash like a human body could.

I am donating my body to a medical school but you cannot donate body parts and then donate to a medical also. I feel that either donation is worthwhile. Then one is cremated when the school is finished a year or so later.
