Woke up to a big fat balance in my checking account! Social Security AND the stimulus money were both deposited overnight!

I'm going to use part of the stimulus grant for a new computer to replace my old quirky one. I've been promising myself the computer upgrade but did not want to spend money since the old one still works, but it's slow.

I have a couple of small projects to see to around the house, so I can hire someone with the rest of the money and get some home improvement completed.

Both my purchase and the hiring will contribute to the economy and my well being. I'm grateful I am able to pay my bills as always and the stimulus money is serendipity, not crucial. It's not that way for so many people and that is sad.

We just saw that ours was deposited early this morning.

We don't have any plans for it except to just hold on to it. Luckily, we are both still getting paid, but my husband also has his own business on the side that is being impacted by what is going on. This money will definitely help.

I'm expecting a paper check so it'll probably be awhile. I'm going to donate part of mine to some food banks in my area. Then I'm going to buy some new sheets and a new summer nightgown. The rest will go in savings.

I got presents from everyone this birthday season. My tax money has returned home and it couldn't have been on a better day. Two weeks notice from my job in the morning and a fat check overnight. Moving on...
