I love Christmas. I don't love it being 'used' in July, September, and October.
Society has destroyed the real meaning of the holiday with it's massive consumerism.
No thanks.

I have to admit, even with the commercialism, Christmas has not been ruined for me. It doesn't stop me from still observing the true meaning of Christmas.

I agree....Christmas is about the birth of the Savior....not about how much you can spend and how much you can buy. Giving the mail carrier some cold water in the hot summer and some hot coffee in the winter would show a true giving spirit more than buying them some useless gift they will probably give or throw away. The pushy, urgent attitude of Christmas in July is a turn-off for me.

I think that's nonsense.
No commercial enterprise or retailer can destroy Christmas for you.
You destroy it yourself when you let this bother you to such an extent.
I'm perfectly fine with CIJ and I enjoy Christmas in December.

Nonsense? You missed the concept of her post. Being “ used” just means the nonstop push of retailers for a holiday that is months away....and Q did not create the concept of CIJ...almost all retailers have jumped on the CIJ bandwagon...complete with Black Friday.

If a home shopping network (that we each voluntarily watch) selling holiday items for one month in the summer "destroys" Christmas for you, I am sorry.

No one is forced to listen to a sales pitch, change the channel..Some people like it, I am not one of them
I don't try to control what other people watch
Many people are dependent on Q for their living. They have families to feed. I am sure the sales are welcome to them

Why would anyone let ‘society’ destroy anything for them? Please throw out all your Christmas junk you have collected over the years and just use a Nativity set at Christmas. And oh yes, take a trip to see the Holy Land so Christmas is not destroyed for you. Edited to add, only you can let yourself ‘be used’.

Who tries to control what other people watch? I guess I missed that post...

Since I have the ability to separate secular christmas from religious Christmas the commercialism of secular christmas has zero impact on me beyond getting my decorating and gift shopping done early.
